Elizabeth J. McInturff represents individuals and businesses throughout Maryland and Washington, D.C. in complex civil and commercial disputes. She also advises fiduciaries and beneficiaries in estate and trust litigation and has substantial experience handling guardianship matters.

Elizabeth appears regularly before Maryland and Washington, D.C. state, federal and appellate courts. In addition to litigation, she counsels clients through alternative dispute resolution and frequently represents parties in mediation, arbitration and administrative proceedings when those forums best serve client objectives.

Her practice is grounded in a client-focused approach that emphasizes close communication and strategic problem-solving. Elizabeth works collaboratively with clients to understand their goals and develop practical, creative strategies designed to achieve favorable outcomes through negotiation or litigation.

Elizabeth has been selected as a Maryland Super Lawyers honoree and recognized as a Maryland Leading Woman by The Daily Record. She has also been named a Top Attorney by Bethesda Magazine in Civil Litigation, Family & Divorce, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Elder Law.

Active in her community, Elizabeth serves on the Board of Directors of Add Impact Network, Inc./Bike to the Beach, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit. She is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, where she holds leadership roles and serves on multiple committees. She has mentored student-athletes at the University of Delaware and served as a competition coach at American University Washington College of Law. Elizabeth participates in a competitive adult rowing team called the Gray Knights, and they compete in the World Masters Championships each fall.

Civil and Commercial Litigation

Elizabeth represents corporate and individual clients in a wide range of disputes, including shareholder disputes, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, contract, construction litigation and claims arising under consumer protection statutes. She also represents property owners in title disputes and adverse possession claims.

Estate and Trust Litigation

Elizabeth advocates for beneficiaries, trustees and personal representatives in estate and trust disputes involving wills, trusts, powers of attorney and other estate planning instruments. Her experience includes matters involving undue influence, capacity challenges and fraudulent conveyances.

Guardianships

Elizabeth represents family members and concerned individuals in guardianship proceedings, including contested matters, guiding clients through the legal process with sensitivity and efficiency.
