Derek Molyneaux is dedicated to serving the public and his clients.  After graduating summa cum laude from Florida State University with degrees in criminology and psychology, Derek immediately pursued his Juris Doctor degree.

After graduating cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law, Derek began providing legal services for his first set of clients – the United States Military, soldiers, and their families.  Derek served as a Judge Advocate attorney on active duty in the U.S. Army for four years.  He provided legal services to soldiers and their families in several practice areas, including: family law, trusts and estates, and immigration.  While deployed, Derek advised commanders under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and applicable federal law while operating abroad and in foreign countries.  Derek’s service in Military Justice was the foundation for his litigation career.  He managed and counseled clients at all phases of litigation, through motions hearings, and at trial.

Derek’s skills in case management, legal research, trial preparation, and oral advocacy easily transferred to private practice.  After his four-year commission in the United States Military, Derek transitioned into private civil litigation at the Policastri Law Firm, LLC, now Selzer Gurvitch Rabin Wertheimer & Polott, P.C.  There, Derek continues to build his case management and litigation skills as he represents a diverse set of clients in breach of contract cases, real property disputes, and construction law cases.

While Derek devotes much of his practice to the firm’s Civil Litigation group, he also crosses over into transactional matters.  He has experience reviewing and drafting corporate documents and business agreements in an effort to avoid future litigation and protect his clients’ interests.
